This is a simple welcome to my blog/website type of post, so bear with me. Things should improve from here on out as I figure out how to work everything. I’m rather technologically inept, so it will be interesting to say the least. It’s already been quite a struggle.
Deciding to start a blog has not been an easy decision for me. This really shouldn’t have surprised me, though, since almost no decision is easy for me. I spend far more time trying to decide what I want to do than actually doing anything. It’s terribly problematic. My indecisiveness did finally help me figure out what to focus on in my blog, though, which is why I’m calling this blog Indecision and Wanderlust.

The Complications of Starting a Blog
Once I decided to bite the bullet and start a blog, I was faced with the immense challenge of actually creating it. Website after website claims it’s easy to start a blog. I lost count of how many claimed if I simply followed “x” amount of steps, I’d be blogging in no time. Good joke. While perhaps this may be true for others, anyone who struggles with decisions almost immediately knows this won’t be the case.
For starters, searching the term “how to start a blog” comes up with thousands of results. Whelp, that’s a major problem, because if you’re anything like me, you can’t limit yourself to glancing through just one. Oh no. You’ll initially open at least five tabs, and then end up spending so much time reading through everything that you become overwhelmed and give up without accomplishing anything. Eventually you’ll have the basic idea of what you need to do, but this doesn’t mean you’ll actually start. You’ll have to mull it over for a while to make sure you’re really making the right decision.
Once you somehow manage to get past this point, you have to choose a website host. You also have to decide if it’s worth paying for one or if you can get away with using a free host. Then you have to build your website. I won’t go into the details, because plenty of other blogs do so. I will say, it’s amazing how many decisions have to be made. It’s unbelievable how confusing this is if you have no idea what you’re doing and are too independent to follow the directions that many blogs are willing to provide.
Honestly, it was probably my fault that this became such a difficult process. Anyway, it took me forever to get to the point of writing, though I’m nowhere near satisfied with my site thus far. I expect there will be many, many changes coming in the near future.
